Highlights: 2007 Salvestrin Retaggio "90 Points. The 2007 Retaggio, a Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc blend, is a sleeper of the vintage as well as a very good bargain. Its dark ruby/plum/garnet color is followed by aromas and flavors of strawberries, black cherries, spicy unsmoked cigar tobacco, earth, and cedar. This is a sexy, open-knit, lush, medium to full-bodied wine with an endearing texture, and a heady, lush finish. Enjoy it over the next 6-8 years."

Highlights: 2007 Salvestrin Estate Petite Sirah "93 Points. A blockbuster, the black/purple-hued 2007 Estate Petite Sirah displays aromas of camphor, violets, pepper, incense, blueberries, blackberries, burning embers, and smoke. Massively concentrated with terrific purity, high alcohol (over 15%) and a long finish, this wine will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age, and last for 20-25 years."

Highlights: 2007 Salvestrin Estate Cabernet Sauvignon "91+ Points. The 2007 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, while closed, reveals a more saturated opaque purple color as well as a big, sweet bouquet of black cherries, black currants, white chocolate, graphite, new saddle leather, and a touch of background oak. This deep, rich, powerful 2007 should hit its prime in 2-4 years, and last for 15-20."

Highlights: 2006 Salvestrin Estate '3D' Cabernet Sauvignon "94 Points. As ripely fruity and oaky as any cab out there, offering a flood of blackberries, currants, cherries, raspberries, mocha and sweet, smoky new oak. Yet lifted up by the tannin-inspired structure and a welcome, herbaceous note of olives. Marries the best of the old and new styles, a terrific Cabernet that will develop for 6-8 years."

"This wine makes pairing very simple, because of the supple tannins it makes a fine food companion and will pair nicely with just about most menus. A well made wine, drink now and often."
PB Pulse "Tasting at Sabor Havana Connoisseur Club" Highlights: 2005 Salvestrin Cabernet Sauvignon "Ah, my favorite of the evening. Of course, it took me a good five minutes to get around to tasting it because I was so enamored with the aroma. The smell was amazing! This is a great wine that will ask a lot of the drinker but will give a lot back. I suspect it will age very well – there’s a lot of potential in the wine and will probably be even better after being decanted. It retails for $60."
